Abstract

Chintya Ningrum Laepasa. 2024. Students’ perception of improving pronunciation skills by using Elsa speak app in individual English learning. Supervised Shilfani, M.Pd and Dr. Rigel Sampolo, M.Pd.
This thesis focuses on students' perceptions of the improvement of pronunciation skills using Elsa Speak application in English language learning independently. The formulation of the problem of this research: How do students perceive the use of elsa speak application in improving pronunciation skills in learning English independently. the purpose of this study is to find out how students perceive the use of elsa speak application in improving pronunciation skills in learning independently.
This thesis uses quantitative method. The researcher obtained scores by using a questionnaire distributed online through a google form link. The population of this study were students of Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja majoring in English Education. The sample was taken using purposive sampling, namely selecting students who use the elsa speak application as respondents, and the number of samples was 21 students, which is 10% of the total population.
The results showed that the response of students or respondents to the questionnaire distributed reached a positivity level at 93.6% or at a very good level. It is concluded that students' perceptions of the use of the elsa speak application in improving pronunciation skills in learning English independently are very good.
